Well my tank is a little over a year young. I'm starting to get the green hair algae. I have been dosing food grade peroxide for a month. The algae just started about 2 weeks ago. Most of the algae is growing down near the bottom and under caves where there is very little light. I do not over feed and run the lights 8 hours with no red, white or green. My phosphate is 0.04. I have a Skimz algae reactor loaded with sea lettuce from Algae Barn. Any kind of help is welcomed. Thanks

Have you added to your CUC? Is detritus collecting in those areas?

69g tank...All I have is 2 astrea snails. Had them for little over year. Peppermint shrimp,

I would add some small hermit crab types, and Nassarius snails, at least 5.

Remove detritus collections with a siphon small patches at a time.

Consider adding phosguard or similar product.

What lighting type do you have?

2 Hydro 26's My phosphates seem to be right on the mark... My gravel is very very clean. I have a diamond goby who does a great job keeping it clean. I always keep a bag of Purigen in my filter sock in the sump.

Maybe it likes peroxide. You started peroxide 4 weeks ago and 2 weeks ago hair started growing. My guess is you killed off something with peroxide and the hair is filling in that void.
