I have a tank that has been set up for almost a month now. All the rock cured before the tank arrived and I used CaribSea Fiji Pink sand. There are a total of 4 snails. Yesterday I added a possum wrasse. For about a week now, I’ve had a algae outbreak. I assume it’s green hair algae (versus byropsis). I know all new tanks will go through stages like this, but why am I getting it so bad? I’m not feeding the tank. I’m doing water changes every week with zero TDS water. What is feeding the algae growth? How do I get it under control? And is it actually GHA?

It's a normal part of cycling unless you skip the "ugly phase" like I did. I actually don't think your GHA outbreak is particularly bad, believe it or not.

As dead material in the rock decays, nutrients are released into the water despite how clean your makeup water is. What are your nitrate and phosphate levels?

I've had very good results with Vibrant in separate tanks, one with hair algae and one with turf algae. I actually accidentally overdosed 10x which showed me two things, one it was safe but I don't recommend doing so and two it does attack algae. (11 days to decimate 90% of the algae in both tanks)
I'm trying this in a 3rd tank for turf algae but at it's normal dosage and while it's less than a week, I already see less cleaning of the glass by 50%~70%.

This rock cured before going into the tank. I assumed it was clean. Nitrates are about 4ppm and phosphates are .02ppm
