So I just a upgraded light 3 or 4 days ago and today I notice a dime sized piece of green hair algae. Is there something I should do now to try to avoid an outbreak? Or is it kind of late for that? Honestly no idea what to do or think about it.

A small amount of carbon. In a pump filter in back chamber of biocube. Then it goes through a chamber of mainly live rock but I put phosguard in for a while recently bc po4 got too high. Then down to sump where it goes through skimmer (more than big enough) and then to chaeto section ( which chaeto getting darker and smaller, I changed light hopefully that works) then to small time out box with 5 inches of sand then back to display. What filtrarion are you running? Cheato carbon dosing skimmer etc?
2 clowns is all they only ever seem interested in flake food, and occasionally one nips at the hammer. What's the best way to physically remove without just spreading it everywhere.you can physically remove it if you want/need to. with the change in lights you may see more changes in your tank (assuming more intensity). depending on the fish you may have --- they will like to graze on it.
