Going off that technique, no peroxide touches anything but algae... this is ideal, makes the keeper do work. #5 post is external application not a tank dosing. Zos do great with dips I recall one loss in seven years of seeing them dipped.
tank dosing is ideal for other non attached invaders like cyano or diatoms, but gha are attached- we need holdfast assault not just lawn spraying. My granny ripped dandelions out of the garden six inches deep, with a stabbing motion and old knife, leaving gouge holes, she didn't spray a darn thing gingerly. (Yes that's how I view gha after yrs in the peroxide threads it's war)
don't recall seeing many dandelions but I saw the prevention work and the lawn was pristine. I now think to have both gha and dandelions are equally optional, given removal methods detailed.
A test rock tells you if peroxide even works, before we jump ship. To dose a full tank is to skip test rock modeling and opt for happenstance.
All others ways considered so far with peroxide besides post #5 are burning both targets and nontargets alike... since the non targets set the threshold a win is uncertain. Some tanks are too big to part out, but mostly keepers are lazy. I could part out and clean any sized tank I truly cared about, gimme one weekend.

To dose or do X to the water, leave algae in place, and wait is one way- a hesitant and hopeful way, and 99% want that way to avoid work.
But to take out every gha rock all at once, fully clean a filthy sandbed surely up under them, blast rinse and scrape (with a metal tool like a kitchen knife) all gha, then treat only the cleaned areas with peroxide for four minutes is to simply stop playing around and get the job done
Robbing all the algae feed all at once has handy side benefits vs the long, arduous task of nutrient detailing and water attacks. Do those only after the tank has been manually rid of all gha.
