Got some green hair while cycling should I worry about it?or is this normal?

It's pretty normal. It feeds off the excess nutrients. I would try to get it under control so that it does not overtake the tank. How are you cycling the tank?

It's probably caused by excess nitrates, phosphates, higher water temp or lights on too long. I've had it under those circumstances. I have a phosban reactor now that keeps it in check but I don't know if you should use one while cycling.

Just cycling with live rock I got on Craig's list I'm thinking it was on his rock already.

Probably. Or the rocks could be leaching a little phosphate. But the problem is solvable with patience. A phosban reactor worked for me. Also, less feedings, shorter light cycles and don't let temp get too high. Hanna checker makes a great phosphate kit. It might take a while to clear up or not. Just hang in there.

Can I just run some phosban media thru my cannister filter?

I've never run a canister filter but the phosban comes with a media bag, so I don't see why not. The advantage of a reactor is that it tumbles the phosban, which makes it more effective.
