My father in law found this guy this past weekend. I didn't think I got any good shots. It was at an extreme angle, almost directly above my head in a patio umbrella. Hard to get in frame, and nearly impossible to hold in frame at the distance... Coolest spider I've ever seen. Canon xTi w/ Sigma 150mm f4.0.

dang, those are some amazing shots ! really neat looking, although i have to agree spiders= creepy

I LOVE macro pictures of stuff like that!
 
are the first and remaining pictures of the same spider?
on the first pic it has 3 legs on the left side and 4 on the right but on the rest of the pics it has 4 on the left and 1 on the right
 
Thanks everyone. I was happy with what I ended up with.

I wondered if anyone would catch that, FateX:). There were two. The one with all of the legs split soon after I started taking pictures. I'm not sure how they got onto the patio umbrella, but apparently they don't do much for webs and are pouncers.
