Ok. Well. Here are some good shots of her. Picked up the tank - soaking the parts and pieces in vinegar and water - they are gross. Cleaning them out good. Will set up TTM tomorrow.
I also noticed a big white spot like the color had been shaved off in the back...beat pics I could get...she's a little camera shy right now.
Am I also dealing with some kind of infection?
@melypr1985 @Humblefish
You may well be dealing with a secondary infection if something were to penetrate the thick slimecoat I imagine mandarins aren't as well equipped to fight infections because little gets infected with all of that slime coat. Again, somewhat hypothesizing here again.

I agree that it's possible. If the ich is bad enough to penetrate the slime coat then it's possible that bacteria could penetrate as well. I'm not sure which to tackle first honestlyYou could do antibiotics at the same time as TTM.... just add extra O2 during that.

Alright - al set up for TTM. Not a lot of room here - not till I get my fish room downstairs set up. It will do for now....and of course, today, Mandy looks better and scooter has never been sick and I'm second guessing if I diagnosed or we diagnosed correctly. The Mandy was in my coral guy's tank for 2 weeks and has been with me for 2 weeks with 2 treatments of prazi. I'm worried about her eating, but she doesn't appear to be thinning much if at all....she isn't as active. When I first got her here, she would climb the tank walls and hang at the top, and now she kind of lays on the bottom and only moves away when I'm bugging her. I'm worried about her having enough to eat with TTM, but that's a risk I suppose I'm going to have to take...just venting and worried. That's all.
Probably will transfer tomorrow. Salinity is perfect. Waiting on temp match.

You are doing good. Keep up the good work and feed the heck out of that mandy as often as it will eat.

Can not get live pods till Wednesday! Feeding frozen and fish eggs as much as possible. My little scooter sucks them up like candy. That JRD part is I'm pretty sure I have quite a few isopods in the QT she is in now.
We got this....

Darn Skippy you do! ;)
Ok - fishies transferred. Can't believe the amount of long stringy stuff coming off of Mandy! She is in a completely fresh tank, with absolutely nothing in it, so I know it is coming from her.
Should I treat her with antibiotics for this mark on her side? I can't tell if it looks like it is getting worse, or if it looks like the color is trying to come back as the skin grows. They will be in this new tank for four days, and will get the other one ready here in the next couple of days.

Yes, treat with Kanaplex if you have it. Or Furan-2.

I've never combined Kanaplex + Furan-2 + Metroplex on a mandy before, so I would only do that if she doesn't respond to the singular treatment.

Ok. I have both.

She is in TTM, so how do I treat with antibiotics in TTM? How long does she need to be exposed.

The antibiotics won't hurt the scooter will they?

Antibiotics only last roughly 24-48 hrs in the water, so I would just dose every 3 days immediately after doing the next transfer.

The scooter will be fine. :)

They should only be in the tank for 3 days. :)

I don't even know what to say....she looked fine last night after the first transfer. And this morning she looked pretty good. I'm wondering if I mis-diagnosed the ich and did the TTM all for not. This afternoon she is kind of slumped over and breathing faster than normal. I just can not imagine that they shed as much slime coat as it appears she is. This has been One of my worries. All of these nova fish eggs that I have been feeding them...they are stuck to her like she has a web...(pic is the fish eggs that I feed stuck to her). If this is normal, please let me know so I will know for the future to expect this from a Mandarin. Hopefully she can pull through.
Anyway. If there are any other suggestions as to what I can do I would appreciate it. The scooter is peachy. Lol.
Ammonia is still zero.

I'm just not sure on this one. I have little experience with mandarins and QT since my last mandy two or so years ago. Let's wait and see what @Humblefish says.

The fish eggs are just stuck to her mucous coat, they should fall off eventually. Have you started with the antibiotics? This could be causing the heavy breathing. I would add an airstone to increase gas exchange (if you haven't already.) Or crank it up to provide more oxygen.

No air stone because of the fear of ich. I have a powerhead. Would that work?
Yes. Started antibiotics last night

Just noticed that the top part of her tail looks shredded and feathery.... This sucks. To do everything you can and still might not be able to save....

That's what the antibiotics are for. Just remember they are slow acting in fish and it may take some time. Keep you head up! You're doing all you can. :)
