Green Montipora Capricornis Losing Colour!! Help!!!!!

watch how much activated carbon you use. I have a candy apple green monti that dislikes when I change out my carbon . It will turn pale within a couple of days of the change if I use just a little too much.
Do you run a refugium with healthy macro algae growth. If the algae is flourishing it could be sucking up all the iron as well as unwanted nutrients . If the macro algae is pale and not as lush there's probably not enough in the water. I would dose some iron..... carefully ,not to overdose causing algae bloom.

Yeah I was thinking potassium but assumed with weekly 10% water changes the salt mix would have replenished it. Its turning grey in the centre, polyps seem to still be out. Was also considering changing salt to red sea coral pro. I dont know, I'm breaking my head trying to figure out the cause!

Had exactly the same problem...started dosing and testing potassium and dosing Acropower after attending a webinar by Mark Callahan "Advanced Coral Color and Growth Techniques Webinar."....I had tried the lighting and other stuff with no success...after about 2 weeks of dosing potassium and Acropower the Monti color came back even better then when I first got it. In addition all of my other corals have better polyp extension and deeper coloration...I made no other changes to the system...just the dosing. I am now dosing iron in addition...worth a try

Potassium is for red and pink corals , yes in general it will help with the color of all corals , but if everything else in the tank looks good and the only thing that is lacking is the green , I would suspect there is a lack of iron. Now comes the issue of how much to dose ?? Dosing trace elements in my experience becomes a "feel" for the tank . looking at it and knowing what is lacking and finding that "just enough dose" as it is extremely difficult to test for these elements with over counter test kits accurately.

Check for pest monti nudibranch take the monti out and dip with Bayer for 10min and look for white nudibranch. They can irritate the coral make it stress out

Iron is a thankful trace element. It precipipates with phosphourus so tere is nearly no risk of overdosing.
But some yellow Acropora or Pocillipora might turn green. And on the other hand Green Poccis can be used as an indicator of iron.
At least be me they are the first to show when iron is low. (The old pale green, not the newer darker one).

I kinda think you could just turn the lights down for a bit instead of spending money because the one new coral doesn't seem to be acclimating well. Just me though. A series of water changes close together will replace the trace minerals. Also cheaper.

Not the lights, and you are correct on the trace elements? Alk could come down a tad. You could check your potassium.
What do you feed the tank and corals?
