Green on Tank Glass.

Yeah 50% every week, thought I could avoid any problems by doing it that much.

That's actually not good (50% and a waste of money). You are not letting good bacteria build up in water column.
You are stripping the Tank of Nutrients that your corals need to GROW and COLOR UP.

Yet, when you reduce the Amount of Water changes, you need to consider things like you Alk Levels, that your big water changes were keeping UP.

However as your corals grow and tank fills up over time. Water Changes wouldn't keep up. Expensive too.

Sorry, there is no easy easy in this hobby.

Wow I am glad I came one here for advice. I am for sure going to take all of what you guys said and put it to practice. What kind of water tester is best to have. I have the junk kind you buy at the store.

All water testers are generall good. If used properly.

I have really not been testing, I have been just doing water changes to tell you the truth. I however have the test kits with the different color drops. I have to full kits that test for everything.

As noted 50% water change weekly is a bit much. I dont see, however, anyone asking about his water source. Are you using RODI? Anything less can contribute to excess algae. Also, Vibrant worked wonders on my film algae so it should be considered in this situation, I think.
