Green polyped leather

My green polyped leather still does not look so hot. The polyps will not get over 1/4 inch tall and the color is faded. I moved it up closer to the light with no improvment. HELP!

have you had this piece for a long time?
the piece i have right now the polyps are really short but thats because i fragged it a little while back
