Need some help figuring out what is on my rocks. They are liferock brand. It’s not fuzzy or hairy or anything. It’s hard like someone painted the rocks green. And some spots on the back wall. It’s only visible it white light or ambient room light if the tank lights are off. When the lights are on everything just looks normal and purple cause life rocks came painted purple. Tank is about 8 months old. 29gal bio cube. Weekly 5 gal water changes. Ai prime light. Just filter floss, a bag of chemipure blue. All the corals and fish seem to be doing well. Thanks for any information.

yes, coralline can also be green - it's rare because the pink version outcompetes it.

This is either the start of pink coralline or it's green coralline.
Coralline usually starts out green then turns to purple or pink but there is a green coralline also

Is green coralline a sign of something bad? Sometimes the green dots on the back of the tank appear on the glass and it’s a pain to get off like rock on glass. A few of the frags I have are came with small specks or coralline and are now covered in purple.

No, this is all good signs of a healthy tank. Those green dots are the coralline algae.
Cool thanks. I was wondering cause all the discount corals we got have been making babies like crazy. Had like half of one acan head that has 6 large heads now. The other acan started with a single head now has nine underneath it. Those thing grow like crazy.

Those green dots on your back glass are also coralline. It usually grows in a circular pattern like that, it's just hard to see on an uneven rock. I really like the Caribsea Liferock. It's by far the best "dry rock" I've used. No cure time and the quickest to get established with biofilm and coralline algae.

I have it in my tank, and I have red coralline all over it now, it out competes the pink and purple in my tank. Green grows only in the sump under the red/blue/purple Kessil H80, and seems to out compete the other colors down there.
