Whats all this then? I thought I was going through a Diatom phase but today it lookes all sheety? Dinos? I thought they were red

Cyanobacteria.

You can suck it out with a baster to help its passing. Increase flow and airation as well.

Definitely not diatoms.
Might be dinos or cyano... And neither are necessarily red (although the cyano we normally see is often red or dark brown.)
