Green sided Jawfish

I picked up a green sided Jawfish on Thursday and put him in my QT. He is feisty and always opening his mouth up wide for me.
Since I have had him however, I haven’t seen him eat. I have tried all kinds of meaty foods for him and some pellets but nothing. All food is also soaked in Selcon as well.

I have 2 PVC pipes and a shell in there for him but he is happy to hang out under the heater.
My other Jawfish didn’t take this long to start eating so I don’t know if I am just overreacting a bit and he just needs a a few more days?

Sounds like you have a stressed fish. Consider a few things to help it relax in the QT:
1. Cover the back wall and two ends of the tank with paper or something handy to create a cave like environment.
2. Add a couple of plastic aquarium plants to give the fish a more natural cover to hide among.
3. Have you left the lights off and only used ambient room lighting to help it relax?
4. Do you have some sand that you could add to the bottom of the tank. It's ok to use in a QT even if you are going to dose copper or meds.

Kind of what I was afraid of. I’ll see what I can come up with to wrap the tank and make a trip to get some sand tomorrow

Do you still have this fish? Could you post a pic? Trying to see what one of these look like.
