I recently ordered a bonded pair. Shipping got delayed and they were in transit for 5 days, so I was worried about their health to begin with. Naturally they hid, but I haven't seen either in almost a week. Should I pick up the live rock to look? I have an engineer goby and I don't want to disturb any of his tunnels.

I don't worry about new fish until a couple of weeks have passed without seeing them. My yellow watchman goby dissapeared for a couple of months when I got it.
The worst thing you can do is further disturb it by moving rocks around.
Do you have a solid cuc in case they don't make it?

What is a cuc? Sorry. I'm still new to this.

Hello,
CUC is Clean Up Crew. Scavengers. Hermits, brittle stars and such, critters that seek out and feed on dead and decaying inhabitants in our tanks.

I lost power for 22 hours in the recent storm that came through the mid west. Several of my fish that survived hid for two weeks after I got my tank flowing again. Hopefully your fish are just stressed from the shipping delay and only resting back up in their hiding spot.

Did you acclimate upon arrival? How were their energy levels when you released them into your tank? If they seemed to be okay I wouldn’t get too worried just yet either.

Thank you. Yes, I have many hermits. I acclimated for twice the normal time. Their energy levels were not high. They were supposed to be overnighted, but Fedex messed up. I'm glad you fish made it :)
