I have a really large piece of green sinular that I want to frag a small piece off. I have been told the best way is to just cut the piece off with a sharp knife or scissors and then attach it to a piece of rock. The piece I want to frag is only a single piece so I don't think using a rubber band is an option. Is it possible to glue the bottom of the frag to a rock? How long does it take for the glue to set up before I can place it back into the tank.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ugh. Glue isn't usually much good on softies like that one because of all the slime they produce.

IMO getting green leathers to attach to rock can be tough. ( IDK, some people say it's simple, but I've lost more than my fair share over the years) I won't buy a green finger leather unless it is attached.
The ones I've had success with I've trapped it between 2 small pieces of rock with a rubber band around the rock.
Then it has to stay in a low flow area ( to keep it from moving around and losing tissue from the rock), for 2-3 weeks.
I've never been able to glue one and I've yet to actually see one that has been glued successfully.

A couple things:

Cut it off, semi-tight rubberband it to a rock. Give it a week or two and you should be ok.

Get some mesh, (one that allows light and water flow through) and wrap that around the piece and then tie the mesh to a rock.

Grab some rubble, get a plastic cup and cut that down to about 1" or so in height. Toss the rubble and the coral into the cup, put in a semi low flow area and let the coral attach.

Or just wedge it into some rocks :)
