Green slime on tank

Does your tank get direct sunlight? How new is the set up? How long are the lights on for?

Josh thanks for reaching out, my tank doesn't get sunlight at all. My lights are set to sunrise 10am to 11am and go off 10pm to 11pm. I am not sure if it is because i don't have enough light or the settings are wrong.

Sorry Josh my setup is a couple of years old. I got it from my father a year ago and he had it for about a year.

Depending on intensity that could be contributing to it, however the comment about the lamp next to it definitely looks the more likely culprit due the the way it looks on the glass

Just to confirm I think you are right it must be the water changes because the light in the picture never gets turned on.

I just lowered the length of time but now sunrise starts at 10am on by 11am then sunset 9pm off by 10

The light is never on, we really don't use it at all.

And sorry no there is.no direct sunlight of any kind.

My algae starts to become a problem when I overfeed. There is generally a direct correlation in my tank. I also had to cut back on the length of time I had my lights on.

I know I have beat this with a dea horse but I still have to much green algae. I have checked my light settings with people on here and they are good. I do regular water changes weekly and I am still getting a lot of algae. I change the water and after one day I cant see the fish anymore. Any ideas?

Hello

I am fairly new to the tank world maybe a year or so and I have for the most part been winging it. I do regular tank changes every week about half of my 75 gallon tank but I notice a green film on the side of my tank about two days after. I really think it's got something to do with my lighting, I have two HD primes mounted and set Uv 90, vio 90, Db 100, blues 100, green 4, red 4, cool white 18. I really think I need another light or to mount them differently. If any of you can help me with this I would really appreciate it. I have attached a picture so you can get an idea of tank and light. The picture was taken when the lights are off so I don't know if that will help. Thanks in advance for having me and any help.
