Got a green speckled BTA anemone in the mail today from divers den. It arrived and looks like this. What is the brown stuff? The underside is nice and red and the green is very vibrant.

That anemone is on death's doorstep, if it hasn't already passed away. I'm sorry about that, it happens sometimes. There does not seem to be anything you could do for it, it has already started decomposing from what I can see. I'm so over Liveaquaria, I really hope you can get you're money back for it!
Good luck and God bless.

I’m gonna guess that it’s the mouth and it’s gaping... could be stress related from shipping. Is it in the tank yet?
That’s what I was thinking as well. It is not I. The tank yet. I got it 30mins ago and that’s what it looked like in the bag it came in(1st pic). The other two are pics of it in a small container getting drip acclimated.

Or float it in a container at top of tabk to keep it high (corner connected to top so temp stays fine even poke holes for flow) keep it outta direct light and see how it looks

After I finished cutting up One of the wife’s Tupperware containers she reminded me that I have a breeder box. Currently the BTA is in the breeder box just below the water level. I shut the main light off as well for the night. Hopefully he will look better tomorrow and so one.

Looking any better?
Thanks for asking. Ha I wish, I woke up the next morning to find it half “melted.” I had a buddy of mine look at it and pics and she said it didn’t handle the shipping. It turned inside out and was in the process of dying in the pics. It eventually 100%died by morning. I reached out to divers den with the pictures and they refunded my money.... I tried searching online for a closer LFS other than petco and I found a great store about 30mins away in Wilmington Ma called Love the Reef and they had some amazing corals and inverts. Place is awesome. I ended up getting an Ultra Rainbow Bubble Tip.
