Hi all. I received this green speckled BTA from Divers Den today about 45mins ago and this is what he looks like. The first pic is how he looked right out of the shipping container it came in. The second is in a new container, what is wrong with it? The green is very vibrant but what’s with all the other brownish color? Finally the third pic is the other side of it(foot?) which is nice and reddish.
Currently it is drip acclimating, but I am not sure if I should put it in my main tank as I don’t want it to die off and pollute it. Any clue about it’s looks; stressed, dead or what? Thanks everyone.

BTAs can look terrible in a shipped bag and look like they are dying, inside out, shriveled etc. But don't give up on them they usually bounce back given a little time.

I like to put them in a small tupperware container with a lid with some small holes cut out or drilled in and then place in tank. Let them adjust and settle in for a few days before placing on rockwork. You will know when they are ready to be 'permanently' placed as they will inflate and start looking like btas.

Good idea. I will try. Thank you

They do some funny things. Especially after being in a box for a day. Personally I wouldn't throw it out. I would get it in the tank without flow for a bit and give it some time to adjust.
Thank you. I will try that

Like others have said, all looks good, and completely normal for an anemone that just shipped. I'd just plop it right in after a temp acclimation. I like to keep my nems in a basket for a couple weeks tool they are completely back to normal.
It is looking better now. It is currently in a breeder box in the main tank isolated from any curious fish. I will post a follow up pic in this thread tomorrow once it has a night to relax after being shipped.

liveaquaria has never given me an issue with refunding. Just send a picture to customer service
It seems as though the shipping may have stressed it out like the other posts have said. It is currently in a breeder box in the DT. I will post a follow up on this thread tomorrow after it’s had a night to “relax” from its journey

Great news! I bet it looks 100 times better. You may have to check on it a couple times. My anemones LOVE to shrink and look crappy intermittently throughout the day. Scared the ever living daylights out of me the first time I saw it... Now it's just nems being nems :)

Did you smell it as well? When I got a bad anemone from liveaquaria, it smelled really bad.
Nothing that would make me assume it was dead. It seems as though the other posts nailed this. It looks to have been just really stressed from being shipped. Currently it is in a breeder box in the DT and looking better. I will post a follow up pic/post tomorrow after it has a full night to relax
