Anyone have a specific name for these:

Another colony:

Frag from above colony, one week under intense light:

I have always called them Green Galaxy PE or Green Dust PE. Not sure if there is a proper name though.

Akwarius those are very nice. Do they have the Green mouth and watermelon striping of a true PE? I ask because I've noticed that there is a group of polyps coming onto the market that have the outward appearance of a PE, but lack the identifying features of a PE - one of the vendors is referring to them as Lotus Eaters. I can't tell from your pictures if they are PE or not - some look like they might have a green mouth and then others not so much.

Yes, they have all the characteristics of a PE. I was amazed how quickly they morphed under intense light.

I'm with Jared, I don't know that those have an "official" name - its not ringing any bells right now anyway (but I'll check some more), maybe you guys should come up with one and submit it. If either of you have a frag and are interested in trading for something I have, let me know. Thanks

Someone else mentioned Northern Lights. I am not finding anything on the ID sites to confirm this.

My Northern Lights are much more blue than green - but maybe in a different lighting scheme IDK?

Did a search on Great Gatsby PE - looks like it was sold by Coral Morphic last year, but all the pictures are gone, except the one in this thread. In another thread it is described as brown and white with speckles.

Ladipyg had a frag of these, so you might ask her via PM

Northern lights used to be on ZoaId.com back like two years ago or so. Not sure what happened to the pic and link. I've found those before they're nice. I think Northern lights might be the one but it's been so long since I've seen the link.

Thanks for the pic, Jared. Yours sort of looks like my second colony that's colored up. It's kind of hard to tell from your picture.

Scopus Tang, the Gatsby's on Alex's link look very much like the first colony. I wonder if his identification is correct?

There is a clear difference in the markings of the two colonies, though the metallic green is the same in both. The first is more of a starburst pattern and the second is more of a "chunky" pattern.

I'm going to wait and see how much more the color morphs on these before submitting them to zoaid, and even then, I haven't decided whether to submit them under a new name or just assume they are Great Gatsby or Northern Lights.

Those are very similar, Charles, but Coral Morphologic calls these things by a different name every time I go onto their site. Ultra, Mint, Super, etc.- all marketing terms? Is "Great Gatsby" the accepted name for every green speckled pe? To be perfectly honest that name is lousy IMO and it doesn't describe how attractive these polyps really are.
