I have a pink star polyp looking stuff and gsp in my tank. i hate them and cant get rid of them. I have read the best way is with a blow torch and burn them off. i want to try this, any one ever tried it?

also if you burn it and kill it, how do you remove it off the rock after you burnt it and how to you prep the rock to put it back into the tank. do you soak it for like a week in old saltwater or what?

yes one of my first corals. it kills off everything and is much harded to peel off of a rock than gsp. i want to burn it off, but afraid of adding the rock back into tank. even if i soak it for a week im afrid the po4 will go way up

That was one of my first corals about eight years ago. That stuff will spread everywhere! Good luck getting rid of it.

ok so i went a burnt some off a small rock to see what happens. i just tourched the star polyp[ mat, and left it out side for the night. today the stuff is still attached and cant even be peeled off. how should i remove it, stiff bristled brush??

My tank is already been taken over by star polyps but I would love to put that pink in my tank. If it takes over then so be it. I don't suppose you would frag a piece of the pink and sell it to me. It would need to be FedEx to me in Tennessee before you kill it all. If not that is ok.
