Green Star Polyp colour

So my GSP is looking more browny green that bright green.

What can I do to improve the colour or what could be wrong

It’s only only 4 hours a day... give it longer? How many hours is best

Is this a new coral to your tank or an existing one that lost color? GSP comes in a couple different shades, so if it’s new it might be one of the “off” colors.

New but was green when it came out and just going browner

If you have adequate lighting it may just adjusting to your tank.

how far is it from the light? what kind of light? Unless it's getting very intense light at the top of the tank, I'd say at least 6 to 8 hours of light imo.

I've cranked the light up to 8 hours.. will see if that improves things

Not sure, I'm using API test kits, it's not 0 but not more than 0.25ppm and I know that's a huge gap for Phosphate. How can I remove phosphates?

Light on from 2pm till 10pm still no improvement so can't be the light.

What kind of light are you using? Wattage? If it's an LED, what brand/intensity?

When you say phosphate isn't zero, what is it? Some phosphate is widely regarded as good (~.03 to .1).

Phosphate is showing between 0 and 0.25ppm, but probably closer to 0.25 end but as I'm using API kits it's not more acurate.

I am having same issue. Polyps fully extended but mostly brown. Plenty of flow and running two AI Prime HD’s.

That's wild. I've never seen GSP look like that. Was it a metallic green at first?

It was. Initially had it in a Biocube then moved it to a 66 gal. cube about 3 months ago. The move obviously upset the colony as the polyps took about two weeks to appear but they did finally - green. Over time though they have lost the green. Tank is young but everything seems to be thriving - softies, LPS and SPS. My PH is 8.0 nothing to speak of in terms of nitrates or phosphates, calcium 400, dKH 8, 1.025 sg. Honestly, color aside, they look really healthy. Running the Saxby settings on the HD Primes.
