Green star polyp growing?

Ok this is kinda strange...I was looking at the gsp earlier and a dark really fast bug? Not sure was under it. What could it be? The gap looks fine. It was a little smaller than a pencil eraser.
It's an amphipod, which is a type of crustacean similar to a copepod. Most of the ones that I have seen almost resemble a cockroach. Cops are smaller, some smaller than a flea.
The new runners are a light green. I bought a section about 4" x 2" about a month or two ago. It's almost doubled in size. Absolutely beautiful under actinics....

Ok I do have amphipods. There have been tiny white babies on this. So these are just huge ones?

Great. Even my amphipods have big butts! Awesome. They fit right in!

Our chaeto is infested.

Every time I change my filter sock, I remove a couple dozen from inside the sock. I bought a couple hundred awhile back and yeah, they get everywhere! They even live en mass inside my GFO fluidized reactor.

It really freaked me out at first. Thank goodness someone kind on here explained. Being new is stressful. I was sure I had unleashed the kraken in our little tank.

I understand. I had some small starfish spread in my tank about 4 years ago and I was scared the things would take over my tank... I got a piece of rock with an aiptasia in it... I thought it would take over my tank, even if it was pretty. Some pineapple sponges... same thing. Ciano algae, same thing.... Lots of assurances or advice from different people in the hobby had really helped over the years.
I've been "in" the hobby for about 5 years when I got a 40 gallon fish only. I got serious with it about 4 months ago when I got my 75 gallon. I am still by zero means an expert. Unless you know the true definition of an "Expert," which is a drip under pressure :-)
Wait until you do something like build your own sump, plumb it and turn the circulation on for the first time. Yeah.... that's freaking scary! :-) The anticipation of seeing if it would work, or I would have 90 gallons of water on the floor really stressed me out. But there are a lot of friendly people in this hobby willing to pass on their knowledge who helped me during the project, and it worked out just fine...
