It was never my intention to sell coral, and frankly that's still my position. I am an old Army Sapper/Police Officer & Sheriff's Deputy (ret). I am 52...single...happy...and just want to enjoy my dogs and Salt Tank; the the occasional visit of some hot chicks, which are younger than me...lol. However, I had the idea of covering the entire back glass of my 210 gallon tank with green star polyps. I was hoping to gain some depth in in the tank...so the viewer couldn't really tell if the tank actually stopped on the other side. I know...sounds stupid...now...but back then I was wondering if it could be done, and it sounded better than paining the back of the tank, or covering the back with some ******* ocean scene. So...here...I am...almost at a point where some trimming might be needed.

In addition, when I started I also placed this little piece of star polyp onto a hand-made plate; which was part of the tree branch looking thing. I'm sure the idea was to set five or six plates, each able to hold about 6 new corals, along the bottom of a tank. Frankly, its something that is probable better suited for a shop, but it's in my tank now, so...whatever. Anyway, that little polyp as grown, and is now about 4" in diameter, and has actually wrapped around the disc, and started to grow the the center; it's like watching the movie Alien. Furthermore, some of it dropped off onto the center of the tank, and onto a 8"X10" (I think that the size...might be a bit smaller) and continued along the edge. Ok...when you look at the tank stop being so f#$%^ing judge...y (was attempting t place a soft pool or bed of sand for those that needed it).

So my question is...how much does this stuff sell for, or should I just cut it away and drop it in the trash. I would be willing to get store credit somewhere...don't really want money....or I could put an ad out and offer it to other reefers. But...at some point...its gatta go...

I honestly give it away, you can get store credit for it but it’s not much at all. I like it covering the back wall but I just keep it to the center.

Thats a bit of an older picture...the polyp now has completely covered the back glass...it was just the best pick ofthat 4" disc covered with green polyp. it's about an 1 1/2" thick. It's got to go to...just dont know how much store credit its worth.

nice wall. my gsp kept falling off the back wall so I have up on the idea for a while, but o do like it.

Is there a local reef club by you. They usually appreciate donated frags for raffles or to a newbie to help get started.

On a plug,$5 bucks to store, $10-$15 retail.
There’s are ton of this stuff out there and some see it as invasive.

I’ve done the same as you but GSP always travels towards the light so I started mine higher.
This stuff has the added benefit of nutrient uptake, so for me, I love what you have done, your and your right, gives good depth.

Yah I see a scrape and toss scenario or maybe just the lower three quarters.
A lot work to make those store ready for $5 bucks each.

There’s a big patch to the right of the monti, and one, hidden in the pic, behind the birds nest.
