Green star polyps

Hi everyone. I just got a frag of gsp and I was wondering if there are different types of gsp. I wanted the really green looking ones but I realized my gsp is green but there is a little brown in it. Does it get greener as it matures or is this a different type of gsp?

I know at least there are 2 types, just on the green size. There are many other gsp types that I don't known

I have them isolated on a rock on the sand bed so they won't take over my rock work. They won't travel along the sand and get on all of my rocks will they?

Yes, or gravel... They tend to spread regardless, but with sand or gravel, you can just break the new growth and either make new frags from that to sell or trade or worst case, trash the extra you don't want

we have the Branching type GSP it branches out hence the name.

Holy **** lol well at least you know ur water is healthy lol my polyp frag doesn't look that green tho. There's a lot of brown on the stars and I'm ticked cuz I want the color u have

you need to find a true neon green star to begin with. They are vary in color but the one in my tank is really neon green.

Yours may need to color up in the new system it's in. But watch it close it'll spread as already mentioned. Taking any corals in its path rock,sand,gravel,glass it doesn't matter it'll grow over it. Weeds of the ocean.

I have 1 type GSP that is neon green a bit like the Tyree toad stool. The other one is just like green

Be careful or it will take over the tank. A lesson I've learned the hard way. I've had to peel it off the rear glass numerous times. Maybe at some point I'll find a local person to trade "clean" liverock with for some of this stuff.
In any regard, you can see two distinct types of gsp in my tank. One on the rock work and another on the rear glass.
