Thought I'd do a poll about which people like better. "Rainbow" includes all the fancy varieties, like CSB. I had a rainbow in my last tank, which was great, but I've decided to order a green for my new setup, should be coming tomorrow. Hoping I get one with a red/purple foot, but you never know. I don't see many greens, hoping they still split as often as the rose. Trying to fill my tank up, and I don't want to order 20 different anemones.

voted “rainbow” as i have a CSB, and as it that option has the most color variations. green and red(rose) are great in their own ways but i personally would get bored of the colors almost immediately so it would t work for me long term.

That's valid. I would like one of the CSBs, but I'm afraid that I'll pay 100s for a rainbow anemone only for it to fade to a normal rainbow/rose color. I know that happens rather often.

CSB from what i’ve noticed has phases. gold/yellow phase and an orange phase based off of @inappropriatereefer on YT. could also depend on lighting(heavier blue may show brighter orange, less glue could indicate gold/yellow?)

currently my CSB is colored down because i have low nutrients but i haven’t seen or heard of BTA’s changing back to “normal” colors. this actually happens? seems to me it was already a normal rainbow but colored up due to being acclimated to the tanks parameters/light/flow

I've seen pictures of anemones sold as CSBs that look just like a regular rainbow anemone to me, maybe with a lighter shade of orange/red. I think that they turn redder under LEDs and yellow with halides/T5s, and sometimes go brown with high nutrients. My rainbow BTA came to me bright blue and red, and turned brownish in my old high nutrient system before I broke it down. Lots of green ones also go brown, one of the reasons that I wasn't sure at first about ordering one.

Here's the new green BTA on the move! Hopefully it doesn't make a beeline for the powerhead. I do have an anemone guard, but I don't want to risk disaster.

I didn't see an option for white with blue tips?

Is ‘rose’ typically only used for the all-red specimens? I’ve also seen a fair number of ‘rose’ that look like rainbows but simply with a bit more red and a bit less orange. It could just be a distinction without a difference, lol.

Rose is for brownish red ones without brightly fluorescent blues. Sometimes they have more green than blue.

Since these are all simply color morphs, there is no correct answer. It's really what you like the best.

In terms of a CSB, they have distinctive characteristics that the other morphs don't have: yellow towards the tip of the tentacle, typically a small purple dot at the very tip of the tentacle, and a marbled foot.

In contrast, rainbows typically have pink tips, CSBs never do.
