Hey guys I just started my 75 gallon system and just put the water in. There is live rock and sand. The water is very clear but it's a tint of green. What is going on ? Will it go away ?Is this normal from the cycle ? What should I do?

Wish I could tell you something awesome about how it's just normal but I have no idea lol. What kind of water did u start with? Rodi mixed into saltwater or tap water?

I would bet it's some sort of bacterial bloom or what have you. New tanks do some odd stuff sometimes. My water in this tank was very cloudy at the bottom 6 inches by the sand bed for months. Now it's always crystal clear.

Ite might be an algae bloom. I have this special blend microbe lift. I'm adding some more rock and I'm guna do a water change and then add the special blend. Maybe after the cycle it will clear up

Do you have a filter sock and do you have granulated carbon in a sock? These two things helped clear the green tint that my tank had when it was as cycling. You probably shouldn't do a water change until you're done cycling.

You have the very common green water problem. It is micro algae or cyano bacteria reacting to lights and nutrients and growing to cause the clouding.
Best way IMHO to fight it is to kill the lights and stop all (if any current) feeding until it clears up.
then resume with less lights and feeding and adjust so good stuff grows and the water stays., clear.
Adding plant life like macro algae or an algae turf scrubber will also help in consuming the nutrients, recycling fish wastes into fish food, and stabilizing the environment to make it more forgiving of operator errors.

Is it green with the lights on? If it's with the lights off, it might just be the green in the glass making it look like that. I thought the same thing as you did when I set up my first tank. I went out and bought a bunch of stuff to help cure a problem that didn't exist because the glass wasn't starfire.

No my lights are off and the water is deff green coming off the rocks
