Hiya all,
I have kept tropical freshwater fish for over 20-years off and on.
i currently have a 175 Gallon planted tank that has been growing now for about 5 years.
I currently have the following animals in the environment:
(3) clown loach (Chromobotia macracanthus), they are around 4 years old and 6-8" long and my babies.
(5) Red Serpae Tetra (Hyphessobrycon eques)
(3) black Skirted Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi)
(2) Silver Catfish (Pimelodus pictus)
(2) African dwarf frog (Hymenochirus boettgeri) not 100% sure on the genius
(1) albino bushy nose pleco (Hypostomus cirrhosus)
(3) Siamese Algae Eater (Crossocheilus siamensis)
(1) mated pair of Red Wag Platy (Xiphophorus variatus)
(2) Dwarf Gourami (Trichogaster lalius)
(1) unknown top swimmer that my son brought home. i have not been able to find out what this fish is, he seems happy and has tripped in size over the last year.
I know this is a lot of room but the Catfish and Loach can reach decent sizes once they are fully grown and with all the decor it had to be that big. plus i like the look of all that water. (just don't tell my wife
.
I have acquired a spare 30-gallon tank with the intent to try my hand at salt-water fish. it has no lights, sump or power heads so i know i'll have to invest some.
i have an area in my bedroom that is out of drafts and would make the perfect place to install a new system into.
My purpose here is to gain knowledge beyond other books i have been reading to start a small live coral tank. this forum seems to have a lot of members so i assume there is safety in numbers.
Thanks for your time.
