Hey guys and gals! I have been browsing around for a while and finally worked up the çourage to join. I must admit I do not own a tank yet, but I had one a few years back (prior to children  ) and am thinking of starting back up to get the kids involved. I can see lots have changed over the years so I have some research ahead of me. If anyone has some helpful experience or words of advice I am all ears. Otherwise, I'm off to explore this beautiful community.

Take care!
Dave

A big welcome fellow NW. There's a lot of activity on this forum from very knowledgeable reefers. Enjoy

Dave, a BIG WELCOME to R2R and our very large Seattle area Reefkeeping Community. You are more than welcome to stop by for a visit and where I'd be happy to share a few decades of experience if you don't mind a drive up the 'Mill Creek' area. Besides our many generous and helpful local Reefkeepers there are a few LFS's you should check out if you have not already like 'Red C Aquarium' in Northshore, Denny's in Kirkland and Barrier Reef Aquarium in Renton.

Cheers, Todd

I am in the similar situation. Just set up a 93gal cube tank after my kids got interested in marine life. I had a tank about 20years ago and a ton has changed over time. Let me know if you have any questions! Barrier Reef has great advice and inventory. Prices are comparable to what you find online as well.

Cheers!

Welcome to R2R!! Do a bit of research around the site, it's loaded with tons of great helpful info. The best advice I was given was to take my time and research.

*Welcome to Reef2Reef!*Definitely take the time to visit your local fish store and join a local club in your area. Some people are willing to give away free corals to the new guys.I would also recommend starting up with a larger aquarium if possible.
