Hello R2R, I have been keeping tanks for around 12 years, and have had my arm in saltwater for about 5 years. I have worked in a fish store, started a small tank cleaning service, and have had many different personal systems going over the years. I was promoted in my company, which unfortunately meant I had less time to spend on my tanks, so I have focused my attention solely on my 90g mixed reef for the last year.
A little about my filtration/equipment...
My overflow drains directly into a 6g bucket, that I have painted black, placed I lid on, and filled to the brim w live rock rubble, creating a small cryptic zone. The bucket overflows through a bulkhead into the first section of my sump, which is full of chaeto. Next chamber has a Reef Dynamics INS100 skimmer, followed by the return. My skimmer cup is drilled and overflows into a DIY container located out of the sump. I have added an additional overflow from the container back to the sump, in case the skimmer acts up and skims too wet. This way, if the collection container completely fills and overflows, it goes back into the sump, instead of my living room floor (that was a fun morning). Last of all, I have a ReefFanatic ATO, that pulls Kalk mixed Ro/DI from a crystal springs 5g jug. This fits snugly in between the sump and the cryptic bucket, utilizing almost all of the space under my system, and making replacement of top off water very easy. I Run a 150w Eshine 50/50 LED fixture over half of my tank, and a 300w Eshine 50/50 LED fixture over the other half. I enjoy the effect that this gives the system, and it allows me to put my LPS and corals that need less light under the 150w, and my SPS under the 300w.

I'll post a bit more about the livestock later on.

Thanks for looking, and happy reefing!!!
