Greetings from the Rockies!

Good afternoon,
My name is Buzz, however I go by Hopdevil1 on here. We live at 8,600 ft elevation Northwest of Boulder, Colorado.
I have lusted over reef tanks almost my whole life. Never had the time (or money). Well a major kick in the teeth health wise is making me re-assess my priorities.
I am looking at the Integrated Marine NUVO 100 reef ready tanks. Am I better off with the Internal overflow configuration or the External?

While I plan on being patient, I am anxious (like all new reefers) to get this up and running ASAP.
Hey boulder i am located in loveland might have to get together at some point welcome to the team

Welcome to R2R! By internal/external I assume you mean both to a sump. The difference is that the external gives you a flush back panel for a cleaner, and marginally bigger interior. The downside is that you need room behind the tank for the plumbing. The interior overflow goes out through the bottom of the tank so while the interior has a bulge for the pipes and overflow, the tank may be placed closer to a wall. Both work well and your placement may play a big roll in your decision. If it is going someplace where having it close to a wall and as clean looking as possible on the outside the interior is probably better as once aquascaped the bulge won't be that noticeable. If the area is such that pipes and being out from the wall is okay, the exterior is slightly easier to service and gives a really clean interior look. Hope this helps.

Hi Buzz and Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in mountains:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
