Greetings! I am getting serious about reefing.

Welcome Azure!,

Reef2Reef is a great place to find the info you need. If it isn't here, someone can direct you to it.

Research what you want to keep and work back from their. That is one big starter tank. Wish I could get one half that size..

Hello all,

I signed up because my family is getting serious about reefing. We are planning to get a 310 gallon aquarium with a dedicated fish area in an unfinished part of the basement. I look forward learning a lot and sharing it with the community.
Awesome clean slate, hopefully your basement will become the go to room in the house.

Welcome to R2R and reefing. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Thanks for all the kind words. I am not new to reefing, but with the 310, I definitely feel like I am moving into a different level. There is the cost for sure, but it feels like mistakes could become huge in a big system. I also plan to do some of it DIY. I don’t have the skill to do anything furniture grade, but for the fish room I will give it a shot.

Welcome to R2R!!!

welcome. there is so much instruction available now that did not exist in an accessable form just a few years ago that DIY is much easier to master; or at least attempt; feel free to do a lot of scenario planning and adjust your plans when new ideas are found. the results can be awesome and gratifying.
