Greetings All!
Let me first say how grateful I am for this forum. I have been a long time freshwater owner, and have been interested in reefing for some time but was intimidated to say the least. My youngest just graduated HS and the oldest moved out, so I have more free time and space!

I have been reading and researching for several weeks now along with visiting my LFS trying to narrow down my goals and come up with my build. I’ll be starting a build thread here shortly.

ALL of the posts and comments I have read have been so helpful and the amount of knowledge in this forum is amazing! It truly is a community.
Thank you all! Hope to have much to share soon!

Do you know what kind of tank you want to do? Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I’m leaning toward an AIO but was torn between Red Sea, IM and AF. Then I saw a thread on a DIY setup that I thought would help lessen the “having to upgrade everything” in 6 months when I’m officially addicted, but then backed off that when reviewing my goals. As of this moment… IM seems to be winning out. I do love what seems to be a super easy design/build of the Red Sea, but all of the seam failure posts turned me off. I don’t have any local distributors of the high end brands. Only brands like Planet Aquarium, Fluval and Tideline. I would like to seem them up close and personal, but no such luck. I’ve also been searching on FB marketplace but really don’t want to inherit someone else’s problems.

I’ve been looking hard at both IM and Planet Aquarium when I upgrade from my 32 Gallon. In any case, best of luck and
