Cycle is pretty much done, ordered my cleaners. They should be in in a couple days! Is temperature acclimation sufficient for snails?

Got my snails in today, along with my chaetomorpha. The snails are cruising around doing a number on the algae! Exciting to finally have some life in the tank!

Tank Updates

So my cycle is finished, and I have my cleaners doing work, I just wanted to post some of my aquarium updates, I included my overflow plumbing as well as my baby sump set up... Let me know what you guys think!

I replaced my halides today, and I'm pretty sure this isn't even my aquarium...it looks so different! Now I gotta figure out this green algae I can see now!

It's play sand I added before the black, so far nothing out of the ordinary noted because of it...

I will be adding pics of my hair algae problem, and how it now looks after the battle, it's been a while since I have posted any updates...

Algae problems..........the use of playsand..........coincidence? I heard playsand causes high phosphates and silicates which helps algae grow. Could be part of your problem. Just a thought.

Well it's not a problem anymore, my phosphates are near 0 now and no algae, so maybe, but all is well now...

Yeah, just something to watch out for too. It could always leach out over time. Good that your levels are good though.
