White-ish/grey spots should always be viewed with suspicion. Is the bump cotton/fibrous/cauliflower like in texture? Or is it smooth and flat looking?
If it's the former, it's probably Lymphocystis. A viral disease that usually harmless. Treat with pristine water quality, high quality foods, and low stress (no aggression for example). But I highly recommend adding Beta Glucan to its food. I can work wonders on Lympho by tremendously boosting the fish's immune system. Heck, I take myself. Info below:

This one is what I use it is an algae based product:

Ok. The "smooth" is something to watch. Could be the beginning of a bacterial infection. Probably from an injury or wound. Any aggression in the tank?
The Beta Glucan will help the fish's immune system to fight off infection, but you may need to treat with antibiotics too. Can treat either in a bath for 60-90 minutes or in a QT. Here's more info and choices below.

He is the only fish in the tank. Not sure how he would have hurt himself. He does dig out a spot under the rocks and might have scratched himself.

Could it be flukes?

This happens a lot with wrasses and gobies burrowing under rocks, and with larger fish like tangs when they wedge themselves in to sleep at night.

Flukes are very small. Good question. But could be the cause of the infection if that's what your asking. Have the fish been prophylactically treated for flukes/parasites?
No he hasn't been treated with anything. I also do not have a QT. So not sure what my options are as far as not being able to wait until I set up a QT

That's where the "bath" option works pretty good. You just pull the fish, give it the medicated bath, and then return to the tank. Bath's can actually work better depending on the medication.

Based on the pic you posted, I'd consider starting with a freshwater dip to check for flukes and then 60-90 minute bath in Ruby Reef Rally. Easy to obtain and is very gentle on the fish. It has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities.

Big G just got home and checked him. The grey spot is gone or fell off and there scales underneath seem fine just a little lighter in color. So confused....

Great news! Your fish has a good, strong immune system. The injury healed quickly. :) Clowns are pretty tough characters. Often when velvet wipes out an entire tank, clowns are the last man standing.

I don't recognize this grey ish patch on my clownfishs head, he also has kinda foggy eyes, can any1 help me identify whats happening?
