Grey starfish not moving.

Hey guys so my I added a 20lb bag of sand yesterday and my starfish was in the sand underneath what I just added. Well today I just found him completely buried and he’s not moving. He’s not responding to feeding nor is he reacting to anything I do. I’m really hoping I didn’t just kill my starfish but I’m not sure what to do.
