First off im in a battle with Dinos and as of right now I have the upper hand. During my trials I sent a water sample in to Triton to test the accuracy of my kits and see if I had high SI. Luckily everything was fine except for High levels of SB SN ZN. I did the initial check all equipment for failure, loose screw etc, I even ran a magnet thru the sand bed a few times and into the over flow. The only thing I can think of is either.

1. Theres a piece of metal under the rock work.
2. The two ground probes are leeching into the water?

I think number 2 may be the closet possibility what are yalls thoughts? I want to find the cause before I do a water change as recommended as I am trying to keep nutrients high.

IMO. If you’re looking for the cause of the Dino’s with metals , I don’t belive that is the source of the dino.
It is possible that the probe used a coating rather than full body anticorrosive alloy. I belive you would see the corrosion on the probe.

I’m glad the tides have turned on your tank. Congrats.

I dont think its the cause, but I was shocked at the levels. There is a slight bit of corrosion on one of the probes but it doesn't look like the normal metal corrosion you would think.

Each type of metal corrodes differenty for sure. And probaly something to be addressed.
It’s a curious thing.

Most ground probes use a titanium conductor, so odd that it would be corroding...

I just got my results back and also have elevated Sn and Zn. My Al is also high at 23. I have grounding probe and need to check that out. I have marinepure in sump so think that may be source of Al. I ordered metasorb to hopefully reduce or eliminate these metals.
