GROUND ZERO!!!!! For Blue Clove Polyps!!! Fenbendazole just arrived!

I just received a tank changing package at my door via Amazon. Panacur c 3 -4 gram packs. Also known as Fenbendazole. My Blue Clove Polyps (although they were never mine! ) have taken over half the real estate in my 180.
I’ve posted on a “getting rid of Blue Clove Polyps with Fenben” thread and hope to hear about dosing and best results before I open the brief case and push the button. If and reef2reefer wish to chime in with your experiences with product please do. Thanks!

Cons/Side Effects – Fenbendazole is NOT reef safe. DO NOT use with wrasses! At the time of this writing, fenbendazole is a relatively new medication, so all the downsides/side effects are probably not yet fully understood.

If you're treating your DT, you may experience some losses that are not anticipated. Let us know what happens... following.

I’ve got four wrasses and they all did just fine. I had to do two separate treatments, they never even seemed phased by it

blue cloves, I think, are the worst thing to happen to anybody's reef. At least with AEFW, all you do is get rid of acro's, but everything else is fine.

Make sure you get the dosage right; if not, they come back within 4-5 months! It sucks because even if you follow the instructions to a T, you *will* get die-off of some sort. Most of my acro's got stressed and eventually perished (slow, long death), torches got stressed (lost a few, but most survived). The other sucky thing was that this stuff stays in your system for a LONG time, despite water changes. Urchins were added in too fast and they all perished as well. Anemones were fine (giganteas, BTA's)

All in all, this stuff is a last ditch effort to kill blue cloves. Do not use it unless you absolutely have to because you WILL lose something to it. Better to just take the rock out/let it dry, no matter how much it kills your rockscape.

I'm fighting them and they are not yet out of control but they may have spawned. I see them in an area that is far away from the main colony. I think I will Kalk paste them.

Fenbendazole really worked well! Be patient once you’ve dosed and then begin the process of eliminating the meds out of your tank water. 6-7 months now. I’m pretty sure it’s all gone.

I have been taking pieces of rock out and spreading boiled tank water on them and scrub with a toothbrush. Finished that process with h2o2. Works well on removable pieces. Now I have some stuck in the corners of the glass. Last night I basted them with Kalk paste. I will see the results today.
Fenbendazole will be the last effort if my methods don't work. I have LPS, gargonians, sps, clam and shrimp. Not sure if the med plays nicely with everything I have.

I would love to hear any input on this also. My sps tank is completely overtaken by BCP. It covers the sand, walls, frag tanks, etc. Really would love a solution that wasn’t so drastic but I’m currently having a great experience dosing interceptor spectrum for red bugs and am feeling more open to the fenbendazole.

I've done 2x treatments. The first time used a 1/2 dose, and BCP came back within a couple of weeks. The 2nd time i used 2 x 1gram packets at 22% (according to the formula, this is enough for 222 gallons - my DT is 200 G so hit them hard) - all disappeared within days. Now, 4 months later, they are back (uggg) - will do another round of 2 packets when i get back from a 1 month holiday. Don't want to do this before i go and have something go haywire.

Note, most invertebrates lived - crabs, urchins etc. Snails, not so much.
