I decided to add a grounding probe to my newly cycled QT tank. The tank uses an old (but reliable) Azoo Micro temperature controller. As soon as I insert the probe into the water, the controller goes on the fritz (beep, zeros on display). Once I take probe out of the water, the controller resets and works fine.

Using a multimeter I found a very small voltage 5V in the tank.

Should I:

1. Not use a grounding probe
2. Not use a temperature controller
3. Replace the controller with an Inkbird

Thanks

Yes, use the grounding probe.
Remove the offending equipment.
Repair/Replace.

A temperature controller is highly recommended. If you looking for recommendations - I always recommend the Ranco as they're designed for light industrial and are long lasting. That said they are a bit pricey and take setup work. Just make sure the type you get has replaceable probes.

Nice to see examples of safety equipment working.

Thanks for the response. I got a new Inkbird controller and it plays well with my grounding probe.
