The grounding probe instructions say NEVER to plug into a power strip, only the wall. Why is this?

I’m using a rack-mounted power strip meant for pro-audio and it’s properly grounded and offers a grounding bolt.

So what’s the big deal if I plug into that?

Thanks.

My understanding to eliminate any outside point of failure. I run professional strips as well, but stil have my grounding probe directly into the wall/gfci outlet.

No big deal in your case. Plug the thing into the power strip. Some power strips are not grounded, yours is. ;Smuggrin

Great, thanks. Glad there isn’t some convoluted reason and that common sense wins the day.
Have a good one

Because if anything plugged into your strip "grounds out" and sends electricity to the ground it will feedback right into your tank sending x-amount of volts/amps thru your probe thru your water volume

hopefully your strip breaker is quick to close the circuit

What? Like What?
