Hello fellow reefers,

Currently looking online to order a few things for my tank and came across a grounding probe, I’m sure we’re all guilty of placing our hands in the tank when everything’s running so does anyone use one?

I use one in my sump. Its the only place where wires attached to equipment goes into the tank.

Hello. My question is why not? Cheap, even I can install one :), no maintenance needed other than keeping it clean, and can address any stray voltage.
There’s always a chance there is some in the tank but only detected by meters.

I would think that as long as the return is running, any failure in the DT will ground out in the sump. I have mine in the sump with powerheads in the DT(power side)

Interesting. I watched at least thousands of hours of tube from BRS and others prior this the WB 230 build and never came across that as a necessary item. Makes sense and now i feel like I’m sitting here with a big donkey on my forehead for not thinking about that. Thanks
