Just curious if anyone would know if this bulb would be a decent one to grow chaeto? Thanks

It's pretty tiny. It would be good for a very small fuge. If you have a larger fuge, you want a much much bigger light..

I have one small fuge lit by 3 15W PAR38 growlights, and it's a pretty small fuge. I don't get great growth in that one. The other fuge is lit by a 165W LED hydroponics unit, and that one grows like mad. Same tank, 2 fuges.

My sump is only a 10 gallon aquarium. My display is 54 gallon. My fuge is the small middle part of the sump. It seems like up fairly well. Was just hoping the bulb would be good enough.

I had that exact same bulb, got it at home depot, I tried it and nothing grew, I got a second different bulb, and still nothing either. I kinda gave up. I'm thinking of trying again. But as of now I'm cheatoless... Maybe you'll have better luck.

That probably would be fine then!

When you go with a small light, the problem is not how much of an area you can light, it's how deep in the water it penetrates. Often you want to overshoot a bit, like with one of the PAR38 style bulbs like someone above posted, just to get more power into the deep of the sump.
