Holidays and waiting for the frags to be made and ready to ship.

Cool yeah Ive got about 28 cut already, and they are doing just fine will get teh rest cut tomorrow, but the soonest anything can ship now is after the holidays. Extra time here on the racks is not a bad thing at all though. Might help level the playing field right out of the gate if all the frags are at least a little encrusted.

what do you guys think?

Rules (still up for discussion but this is probably most of it, if anyone has any issues please bring them up)

Entry cost: $80
Break down: $25 for the frag, $45 for shipping, $10 for the prize pool. Winner will receive a battle box of appropriate value ($350 if there is 35 entries). The value will be shared before the start of contest. The judges will be @leahfiish, @Clownman727, and @Battlecorals. Judging will be based on overall growth.

The contest will begin when you submit your first photo. The first photo must be taken within 3 days of receiving your coral. The coral for the contest will be Vivid's Rainbow Acropora. All photos submitted must have a ruler beside the coral to measure growth. After the first photo is submitted another photo must be posted at the end of each month. You can miss one photo without penalty, life happens and we understand. Two or more missed photos will result in a disqualification. (A calendar will be created to give exact dates of submission deadlines). After the end of the 6th month a winner will bedetermined and prizes will be distributed.

Frags can be moved off of the original plug.

The point of the contest is for everyone to have fun. Please be respectful of other participants, any negative or disruptive posts are highly discouraged. Anyone found to have cheated in any way will be disqualified from the contest.

Please do not enter the contest if you don't plan to stick with it for the full 6 months. It's okay if you're new to sps or contests (I am too!), as long as you give it your best shot and try to participate. We don't want people entering just to get the cheap frag with no intentions of continuing with the contest entries.

There will be a seperate thread created for entries and discussion to keep everything organized.

The number of possible entrants is still to be determined based on the number of frags available, once we have a # we will start collecting payment. We are aiming to start shipping the first week of January to have all the frags shipped within the 1-2 weeks so everyone will start at the same time.

Looks good. Great job everyone.

We should have a few day grace period of when the photo needs to be submitted each month. Some people may be super busy the day it needs to be submitted and giving them a few days to get the photo submitted seems fair. Something like the photo needs submitted between the 1st and 3rd of each month.

I disagree entirely. Set a due date and etch it in stone. There's nothing saying you cant submit your picture before the end of the month. I believe its spelled out that the picture is due before the end of the month - there is your grace period. The growth difference between Jan 29 and Jan 31 is negligible for contest purposes. Ambiguity in a grow out contest usually does not end well ;)
