i've had 2 hammers and 2 frogspawn that have been in my system for about 10 months, all besides "looking" bigger have not grown any other heads? should it take this long? they are constantly super fluffy, and dont look stressed. low flow, low/moderate lighting (corner of a tank under xr30 G4s about 20" under the light.

what gives? shouldnt these have grown a few more by now?

When I had a frag of each a while back they grew slowly for the better part of a year than all of the sudden just started sprouting heads non stop. Keep your ALK on the higher end and water a little dirty. Both of mine actually liked flow.

Agree with the above poster on having mine in a slightly more flow area which they seem to really enjoy (not being blasted with flow and not in a section where the tentacles do not move). My frogspawn went from 1 head to 13 right now in 1 year and a hammer I got about 4 months ago is going from 1 big head to 4. My Alk is around 8-9 and Ca 430.

I have had mine almost a year. It started out one head about 1". It has now split into 5 heads and has 7 babies on it. It is about the size of two fists. I keep mine halfway up in my tank in a lower flow area. I feed mine a mix of rods food with mysis shrimp weekly. It took mine about 3 months to really get any bigger and a good 6 months to start splitting. Once I started dosing reef plus it seem to take off.
