Stay with me here for a second guys, just want to get your input on something..

I have a minor GHA outbreak going in my tank, nothing crazy but noticeable, that is except for 1 rock that grows HA like it's its job. Just covered and thick.

I have a refugium going in my sump, which i cant seem to keep chaeto alive for the life of me. My question is this..

Would it be dumb to move that one rock into my refugium and blast it with light and just prune all the hair algae that grows off it until i get everything back under control?

In my mind i think it would work perfectly but just want some opinions.

Moving it to the sump sounds like a good idea to me. I would just let it grow, there are nutrients it must be feeding off to grow. So unsightly GHA out of sight seems the logical approach.

Thats what I do, I have an algae barrel, that then empties into a cryptic sump.

2 questions.
1)Are you running a reverse lighting period for your refugium from your display tank?
2)Are you running your refugium light 24/7?

Hey everyone. Thanks for everyone's input. I'll go ahead and move that rock down into my sump tonight.

40B knasty, I run my refugium light opposite of my display. So runs from 930 pm to 2 pm the next day
