growing out acan question

whats the best way to let acans grow? If i keep them on their frag plus and stick them in the sand, will they stay in the shape of a half sphere and just keep getting bigger? IE two heads become a golf ball to a softball and keep going. Or is it better to remove and glue to a flat rock and let them expand horizontally? I guess Im just wondering how the skeletal structure will grow. Does it max out if there isnt rock to support the new heads?

I always leave them on the plug and then put the plug on a rock and they usually grow round as they grow out.

as they grow, do they start to attach to the rock similar to zoas?

Yes and no. They will build a skeleton under them. Zoas dont. But they will expand in a similar slower fashion.
