Hello all,
So I recently moved my small around 10 gallon(and only) marine aquarium into its new home and after a little bit of being absent I found this read leaf like algae on my rocks. Can I get some help identifying it(then I can get onto fixing the problem)?
It is generally really soft and seems to grow in clumps that are almost leafy. I have to say that after moving the coralline algae is finally spreading and branching up off the rocks some too but this algae also starting back up. Basically the only thing that changed with the move was that I’m using R/O now, a small protein skimmer and the tank may be getting a tad bit of sun during dusk, other times it is indirect light.
The absent that I said above was about a week (uncontrollable) and I did loose a clam( just a simple, small generic clam) that I had for over a year.
I should mention that the place it started did have some Wakame on it and now it has just some reddish algae that it much tougher but I don’t know if it is young wakame or just different algae that I need to worry about.( So in short I think I have 3 obvious kinds of algae, an violet colored coralline, a soft leafy red algae and a harder red algae or wakame.)
If you can help I’d any of the algae that you see thanks.
Sorry if this is a little hard to understand. (It’s two in the morning)

Hard to tell without a closeup. Does it look like this? If so, probably Gracilaria Mammillaris. Personally I love it, it's hardy, doesn't grow so fast as to be invasive, and it's easy to pull off the rocks if you don't want it. I actually use it to cover up more invasive algaes to black them out.
