New clown is currently in QT for the last 2 weeks for observation. I noticed this growth on the anal fin. Any idea what it is and how to treat? I have another clown, bicolor angel and a foxface in the QT with him. They all look healthy. All parameters are good with the exception of ammonia that is 1.0 but I will be doing a 50 water change in the am. No sand just a HOB filter with media in a 10 gallon.

Hi, pictures under white light and a short video would be helpful. Additional background information as well. This post explains that:

What ammonia test are you using? a 1 ppm level can be fatal pretty quickly, depending on the pH of your tank. If there is no operational biofilter, even a 50% water change may not help (the ammonia builds up faster than the water change is diluting it).

Thanks,

Jay

pH 7.8, I did upload a pic and good video. I guess it didn’t go through. Let me try again.

Does the area look damaged like in a fin bite, or is there an actual growth on him….hard to tell on my end.
He’s been in QT for almost 2 weeks. No damage when he was put in but it did look like the fin was maybe damaged originally by the larger female but over the last several days now it appears to be like a growth.

Weird, it looks a bit like a bad case of viral Lymphocytis (which will go away on its own) but other things don’t line up: it grew really fast, is really large, and clownfish don’t often get that disease.
Still, I don’t see a treatment to try here and the fish looks good in other respects.
