I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but there's a small stick like formation on my rock. I see bunch of these are sprouting on various places of my rock structure. Any idea what might these small formations are? Are these some sort of algae? Are these sponges? I've not seen sponges look like these.

Crap. That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for confirming this. Now I gotta figure out how to get rid of these pests. :(

smash the base of them with a screwdriver! Eventually they will stop reproducing if you reduce feeding. The tubes will stay forever though. I have a bazillion on my rocks.
When I feed frozen food or stir up the sand any at all they let their webs out to catch tiny particles.

So far I haven't noticed the net yet. Unless I wasn't paying attention while feeding. I am going to stop feeding the corals for now and just break off their shell. I think it's about time I get a yellow coris wrasse. I was trying to increase NO3 and PO4, I think that's what caused these a'holes to sprout. I am trying to figure out where they came from.

Could have come in on a frag. You have to crush the base of the shell. If you just break it off the rock it doesn't help.
Will a Yellow Coris Wrasse eat the shells?
