Growth on the base of my toadstool

Can anyone explain to me what’s happening to the base of my toadstool. Is this normal or is it some kind of fungus or rot happening. I had two in my tank and sold one off a few month ago and both had the same issue.

It’s about 3 years old and grown from a frag I received off a friend.

I'e seen this on mine also. Not sure what it is but never seemed to cause an issue. I've been able to scrap it off but I'd just leave it if its not causing any issues with yours.

No issues that I can see. I just notice its growing further up the stalk over time. I figured I would try to get an ID in case its something I need to take action on.
