Ok I have a 105g 4ft tank that has been set up for 2yrs now and I'm not getting alot of growth out of the corals. I have mainly sps and acans in the tank. Some of the sps I've had for a year and half now and have only grown about a 1" or so. The colors of the corals are awesome but no growth. All my water parameters are spot on. My lighting is dual 400w halide, m59 ballast, with xm 20k. I was doing water changes, about 24gallons per week, but I cut that back to every other week about a month ago because someone suggested to do so. Please help me with any suggestions.

It is hard to say for sure, but what about the basics. Salinity, temp, ph, calcium, alkalinity, mag, trace, feedings. Do you dose or just do water changes. From what I understand 20k bulbs are not ideal for fast growth, but some of the corals should grow more than that.

I think for optimal growth, stability is the key.

Some corals are slow growers also.

Also I think some pics will also help your thread tremendously if you have them, just to compare when you started to what the tank looks like now. :) Just a thought.

Moving coral (to another area of the tank), messing with flow, adding new equipment; Anything that doesn't pursue stability (not necessarily parameters) will hinder growth. Keep your hands out of the tank and just let her ride ;)

Salinity-1.026, ph- 8.2, calcium- 450, mag-1300, alk- 9. I do dose with aquavitro calcification, ions, fuel, and with seachem marine buffer & builder. Some of the sps I have are eric's red stag, atl ultimate stag, pink lemonade, ATL Purple Bonsai, Rommel's Watermelon Acro, The Ultimate Superman acropora, just to name a few.
